Floral Kids Camp: Wearable Flower Art

July 11, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Kids 7-12 will be joining Sweetwater for a morning of making designer floral canvas bags, whimsical flower crowns, and lunch.

Sweetwater Flower Market is excited to announce our first ever Floral Kids Camp! Get ready for your child to immerse themselves in the world of flowers and creativity.

Tuesday July 11: Day 1 focuses on wearable floral design. Children 7-12 are invited to attend 4 hours of flower immersion as they learn to make hammered flower art on reusable canvas bags, eat lunch, and then craft a whimsical flower crown. If the Queen of Hearts (from Alice and Wonderland was here), the theme would be “off with their heads!” as each craft uses the tops of flowers to build beautiful designs made of fresh flowers and greens.

Day Camp fee: $150

  • A seat in our beautiful studio
  • Instruction by our talented staff
  • All the flowers and supplies to design a canvas bag and flower crown
  • A bottle of water
  • Lunch from Chick-Fil-A
  • A canvas bag and flower crown in their own design!

***No cancellations or refunds will be accepted but if you are unable to make it, I will allow your spot to be transferred to someone else with 48 hours notice. Thank you for your understanding.

Question included during ticket purchase concerning allergies.

Instructor Biographies:

Designer Floral Bags: Abigail Leger’s love for beauty and creating started at a young age as her mother sewed, and planned community events for children and adults. She majored in Education and minored in Studio Art at Taylor University with training in watercolor, drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, acrylic, and cooking. Colorful things are her love language. One of her mottoes is “Everything is better when shared.” In high school, she worked at a specialty toy store for 3 years hosting birthday parties for children ages 3-11 years old, and in college she designed and lead 6 week day camp for 60 children.

Flower Crowns: Nina Jalenak hails from the amazing state of Louisiana! She moved to Colorado after graduating from LSU with a degree in Art. She enjoys making and selling art around Colorado Springs, Skiing, and learning new skills as a florist. As a camp counselor for many years, Nina enjoyed teaching kids of all ages how to make beautiful things. She is excited to combine her love for kids of all ages, flowers, and teaching in order to make floral design accessible to the Colorado Springs community.
