“The Garden Swing” Basket Weaving Workshop

Join Sandi Moede and Sweetwater Flower Market in crafting a hand woven basket from start to finish. This months basket is called “The Garden Swing” for it’s solid wood swing handle that is 10×15″. The basket measures 7″x13x10 wide. Basket color is natural reed. Sandi will provide tips for staining it if you would like to dye the basket a different color. The basket is made of flat reed and is a sturdy basket that has multiple uses.

A complete basket can be made in a few hours (not sitting in a closet waiting to be finished!) and it will be something to be used and not just sit on a shelf collecting dust. And the joy and sense of accomplishment that YOU made this will make you smile!

Ticket cost: $85/person + sales tax and EventBrite fee

*Note: No prior experience in basket weaving is necessary, however the basket does require focus and ability to weave with two hands. Class participation is for ages 18 and up.

*Comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting damp are encouraged.

Instructor Bio:

Sandi Moede is a Colorado Springs native. Several years ago she took a basket weaving class like this one and knew that this would become a passion. She has made countless baskets and loves to share this ability with others. A complete basket can be made in a few hours (not sitting in a closet waiting to be finished!) and it will be something to be used and not just sit on a shelf collecting dust. And the joy and sense of accomplishment that YOU made this will make you smile!
