Pressed Floral: “Bouquet” in a Glass Frame

Have you had a bouquet that is meaningful to you, or found a bloom or leaf that you love during a hike and are sad that the beauty will fade away? Join us in discussing some of the various ways people have pressed and preserved flowers through the ages, and learn a recently developed technique that enables you to press flowers and use them within the same day.
The workshop will include a flower pressing demonstration. Flowers for the workshop will be pressed in advance and be ready to use during the class. Sweetwater may have flower presses available for purchase after the event.

Instructor Bio: Abigail Leger’s love for beauty and creating started at a young age as her mother sewed, and planned community events for children and adults. She majored in Education and minored in Studio Art at Taylor University with training in watercolor, drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, acrylic, and cooking. Colorful things are her love language. One of her mottoes is “Everything’s better when shared.”
