Portraits Simplified – An Intro to Portait Painting Workshop

Stephen from Art from Early is returning to Sweetwater Flower Market for an introduction to oil paint and portrait painting. Participants will choose from one of the 3 portraits to replicate: Brad Pitt, Chadwick Boseman, or Jenna Ortega to paint during the class.
The portrait chosen by each participant will be drawn on an 8×10 canvas precisely as it is in the images attached. This will eliminate the need for drawing skills and allow everyone to focus on learning how to mix skin tones. No Drawing Skills needed. Stephen lays it all out like an adult coloring book. The only difference is you’ll learn how to mix and paint beautiful skin tones to take your portrait beyond merely coloring. The goal is to have a great time in the class meeting new people and starting to learn foundational skills that you can utilize later to paint your own portraits.
$75/ticket + taxes and EventBrite fees

– Canvas with the drawing of the portrait you selected
– An apron, easel, brushes and other supplies to use during the class.
Instructor Bio: Stephen Early, from Art from Early, is an oil painter and pencil artist specializing in family portraiture, commissioned oil paintings, and illustrations. He believes art is for everyone and has a passion for sparking interest in painting and offering skills to every day people.
In Stephen’s own words: “My gallery of choice is in the homes of those I’m fortunate to work with. When most people think of fine art they think of giant paintings in immaculate frames roped off in beautiful upscale galleries. While that sounds like a dream come true for any artist, I find far more meaning in connecting with people on a personal level.
