SUMMARY:2nd Annual PreK-Grade 12 Experiential Education Expo
DESCRIPTION:Experiential education (ExEd) is intertwined in everyday lessons at The Colorado Springs School (CSS)\, as we help students develop the necessary skills for navigating real-world situations. Discover the CSS difference at our 2nd Annual ExEd Expo\, where current and prospective families – PreK through grade 12 – will: \n\nParticipate in some of the same hands-on learning and team-building activities that have had a transformational impact on our students for 60 years. Stations will include\, but are not limited to a:\n\nGold-panning area and lesson on the history of prospecting led by the Gold Prospectors of Colorado.\nHands-on gardening demonstration\, including helpful tips provided by friends of CSS.\nCourse on rope-tying combined with hang time on our 24-foot climbing wall.\nDiscussion on birds of prey\, including their significance throughout history\, and a meet and greet with some of Master Falconer Roger Tuckers’ best birds of prey.\nTest to see whether you can build a boat that will float using limited supplies.\n\n\nEnjoy light food and drinks\, including a build your own “trail mix bar” station!\n\nAdvance reservations are required for this event. (Please dress appropriately for the weather\, and be prepared to walk outside on grass and gravel.) We look forward to welcoming you to our 28-acre campus and to showing you\, first-hand\, how CSS utilizes ExEd experiences to encourage the pursuit of knowledge and prepare students for a dynamic world.
