SUMMARY:Pony Bradshaw @ Lulu's Downstairs
DESCRIPTION:7pm Doors | 8:00pm Show | All Responsible Ages Permitted | Photo ID Required\n\n\n\nNorth Georgia Rounder is strongly related to Pony Bradshaw’s last album (Calico Jim) but also stretches its legs into different territory. Place/region/localism/history has been a focus of Bradshaw’s over the past few years and he has continued that focus with North Georgia Rounder. But as the album title (Rounder) suggests\, it’s also about life on the road: in taverns\, in vans\, sleeping on floors\, meeting good folks\, etc. Bradshaw notes how he longs for a well-ordered life and acknowledges the struggle to reconcile that instinct with spending half of it on the road. “But stories need to be told\,” he said\, “and somehow I’ve finagled my way into a position to tell a few.”

SUMMARY:Dogs in a Pile @ Vultures
DESCRIPTION:7:00pm Doors | 8:00pm Show | All Responsible Ages Permitted | Photo ID Required\n\n\n\nThe sandy shores of Asbury Park\, New Jersey are hallowed ground in the northeast; the rolling waves have ushered generations of venerated musicians to worldwide acclaim. Dogs in a Pile\, an eclectic quintet\, has emerged as the heir apparent to the town’s rich musical legacy. Merging funk\, jazz\, and rock and roll with psychedelia\, the quintet presents a completely original vibe built on kaleidoscopic soundscapes eerily reminiscent of the days of yesteryear. \nThe Dogs employ a unified approach to performance and songwriting\, crafting aural mosaics through adept instrumentation and humble precocity. As avid storytellers\, they draw inspiration from personal experiences\, balancing life’s foibles with ever-present youthful sanguinity. \nA string of successful local shows drove the development of a massive northeast fan base\, affectionately known as the Dog Pound. The band’s astronomical growth culminated in an epic\, sold-out performance at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park during the summer of 2021. Armed with a fresh batch of new material\, Dogs in a Pile is taking its perpetually evolving testament to the Great American Songbook on tour in 2022\, visiting plenty of new cities and spreading good music and good energy to good people along the way.

SUMMARY:Kris Lager Band with Float Like A Buffalo @ The Black Buzzard
DESCRIPTION:7:00 PM Doors | 8:00PM show | 18+ | Bar with ID\n\n\n\nKris Lager has become an underground cult hero of sorts. An uncompromising musician and charismatic performer who has cultivated a grassroots following and a career spanning over two decades. He has developed a unique ‘Celebrate Life’ message and mantra that emanates with every performance. A message that creates a congregation of dancing\, singing\, and clapping people with smiles on their faces everywhere he goes. \nHe has fused together his passion for blues\, soul\, funk\, zydeco\, country\, and almost every other ‘American Roots Music’ into a contemporary and refreshing musical gumbo full of soul and spiritually uplifting rhythms and melodies. \nMany people are calling him one of the finest songwriters\, performers\, and guitarists of his generation and for good reason too. Kris Lager’s gravely voice and stirring lyrics combine the realness and authenticity of the blues with a keen sense of the human condition. \nLast year World-Renowned Musician and Podcaster\, Andy Frasco called Kris “His favorite songwriter!” and also said Kris has inspired a lot of his songs and his desire to have an upbeat and positive stage persona. \nMultiple Grammy Award winning and Legendary Rock ‘n’ Roll Producer\, who has mixed two of Kris’ albums\, Jim Gaines (Santana\, SRV\, Van Morrison\, Steve Miller) says Kris has “A great voice and great songs!” \nPaste Magazine explains the music as “The kind of toe-tapping rhythm that sometimes you just need to make it through a day.” \nA Lincoln native based out of Omaha\, Nebraska\, Kris and his band have built a reputation as a hardworking Independent band refusing to play by industry rules or pander for awards and accolades. They just hit the road and the stage with an intense purpose of expressing themselves through uplifting music while engaging and respecting their audiences.

SUMMARY:Tiny Tomboy with Sponsored Content + The Bannetones @ The Black Buzzard
DESCRIPTION:7:00 PM Doors | 8:00PM show | 18+ | Bar with ID\n\n\n\nFresh on the Colorado music scene\, Tiny Tomboy combines distorted guitar with dreamy textures and witty lyrics. Formed at Colorado College in 2019\, the band is known for breaking floors and bursting eardrums at their chaotic shows. \nSponsored Content is an ad-rock band influenced by Cake and Talking Heads fronted by Captcha. Captcha is on a tirade against bots and misinformation. He fights propaganda with propaganda\, and everyone ends up thoroughly confused. His enemies don’t even know what enemies are. He’s on a quest for a world that no longer exists\, and a truth that was never true. \nOne new fan with The Bannetones on repeat said the lead singer sounded a bit like Sade. Multiple audience members after the ‘tones first Bluebird theater show exclaimed ‘a dead ringer for Bruce!’\, while others countered with ‘David Bowie all the way\, what interesting vocal registers!’ The Bannetones love the tag ‘power trio’ and embrace a big sound with nobody hiding. The high energy\, quirky progressions\, groovy beats\, and unique vocals make for an excellent heater\, or ablaze to burn the house down.

DESCRIPTION:7pm Doors | 8:00pm Show | All Responsible Ages Permitted | Photo ID Required\n\n\n\n“Don’t bury your thoughts; put your vision to reality\, yeah!” \n-Bob Marley\, “Wake Up & Live” \nDenver guitarist and vocalist Dave Halchak decided to put together a group of musicians to celebrate the music of Bob Marley\, and pay tribute to the songs by creating some exciting jams\, and throwing one fine party. The result was a show in February of 2013 on Marley’s Birthday. The chemistry of this newfound group in rehearsal plus the success of the show inspired this new concept for a tribute band: Wake Up & Live. \nWake Up & Live pushes the boundaries of your normal “tribute” band by taking the music of Bob Marley into uncharted improvisational moments. This and the stellar arrangements create a unique and powerful twist on the Marley catalog. SUMMARY:Kind Hearted Strangers with Stereo Ontario @ Oskar Blues Co Springs
DESCRIPTION:7pm Doors | 8pm Show | All Ages Permitted | Bar with 21+ ID\n*PHOTO ID REQUIRED FOR ENTRY\n\n\n\nHailing from all corners of the country\, Kind Hearted Strangers began in Boulder\, CO – where an impromptu open mic performance by songwriter Marc Townes quickly evolved into something much bigger. With genre bending improvisations from lead guitarist Kevin Hinder and bassist/vocalist Ace Engfer\, KHS has become a dynamic full band capable of bridging the gap between all out rock n’ roll and their harmony-driven acoustic roots. \nThe latest addition of Nashville drummer Eggy Gorman sees the band growing into a road-driven force\, hungry for live music\, delivering high-energy rock shows across the country. \nTheir debut record “East // West” (2021) digs into the places they’ve come from and explores the places they’re going to\, with a diverse sound that reflects the broad influences each member brings to the band. \nRecorded in Denver\, CO by Todd Divel of Silo Sound\, mixed in Richmond\, VA by Adrian Olsen of Montrose Recording\, and mastered in Seattle\, WA by Ed Brooks of Resonant Mastering – the album shares a wide-ranging influence and perspective on the relationships we have with one another and the places we call home. \nAlbum #2 is currently in the works and features a collaboration with visual artist/painter Dylan Lynch. Recorded Live in Richmond\, VA on August 20th\, the album features an accompanying Art Exhibition and was recorded in front of a live audience.
