SUMMARY:Extension Colorado Cottage Foods Statewide Training: In-Person

Learn about the most current Colorado Cottage Food Act. \nThe main sections of the training cover food safety guidelines for preparing foods in a home kitchen which is different from a food service site that would be inspected by the County and/or State Health Depts. The allowable food products are highlighted with CSU Extension fact sheets provided for each food product allowed. Then instructors go into product ingredient labeling\, packaging requirements\, marketing\, preparation at altitude and for going further with your business. \nAll of the participants that pass the test receive a CSU Extension Cottage Food Safety certificate to post for customers to see. \nBefore you sign up for this class\, we suggest you confirm the product you plan to sell is eligible under the Act. SUMMARY:ENTROPY
DESCRIPTION:ENTROPY: lack of order or predictability; gradual decline into disorder. \nThe old tree may tumble in a storm. It may knock out the power. The junk drawer isn’t likely to remain orderly. The lawn that needs mowed and edged\, or it will consume the sidewalk and go to seed. \nYour hair will get tangled. It will get dirty. \nThe windows you clean will be water spotted after the next rain\, the dust will settle on the shelf you wiped. When the days get short and cold the leaves will fall\, they will not fall carefully. \nThe manicured garden will grow wild if not minded. The parking lot of the empty strip mall will crack and grow its own garden\, without care for arrangement. \nFor this open call for entries we asked artists to consider entropy\, and the concept of disorder as the eventual natural state of the world. It is in the nature of humanity to want to create sequence\, structure\, patterns\, and lines. We are asked artists to share an interpretation of the delight that can be found in the opposite – the jumble and disarray that is the eventual evolution of all order. \nPhoto credit: Christine Lawson – Plants From the Garden

SUMMARY:In Harmony Festival Concert
DESCRIPTION:Young voices. One stage. A shared experience you won’t forget. \nThe Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale invites you to the In Harmony Festival Concert—a powerful celebration of music\, community\, and the transformative impact of singing together. \nOn April 22 at the Pikes Peak Center\, students from across the Pikes Peak region will come together for an evening that reflects months of dedication\, collaboration\, and growth. Representing schools from across the region and joined by members of the Children’s Chorale\, these young performers take the stage not just as individuals—but as a unified\, inspired ensemble. \nUnder the direction of Festival Conductor and Artistic Director Lori Bammesberger\, this culminating performance showcases the depth\, discipline\, and artistry that music education makes possible\, bringing together 10 area choirs in a special collaboration with the Ovation Orchestra of the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony. Guest conductor Kobe Achu\, Cadet First Class and Cadet Choir Director at the U.S. Air Force Academy\, will lead O America as part of the program. The concert features Amazing by Pinkzebra\, alongside America the Beautiful and O America\, honoring our nation’s 250th anniversary and lifting up a message of hope through the voices of the next generation. \nMore than a concert\, In Harmony is a reflection of what happens when young people are given the opportunity to grow together—through three days of workshops\, rehearsals\, and shared purpose. As a cornerstone outreach program of the Children’s Chorale\, the festival creates space for connection\, confidence\, and community across schools and backgrounds. \nJoin us for an evening that celebrates the art of singing—and the power of young voices to bring people together.
