SUMMARY:Needle Felted Owl
DESCRIPTION:A word from the WISE\, needle felting is a fun craft that is simple to learn. Come join us in making felt owls.\n\n\nIn this class we will make a curious little owl. The project is from a felting kit. With your creativity and imagination\, the owl will be a unique felted item for you to be proud of \nThis project is geared for beginners (first-timers\, or still learning basics) and is a great class to take with friends! \nAll supplies are included and the project will be done at the end of the class. \nTickets cost: $50/person + tax and EventBrite fees \n \nFelting kits for other designs will be available at the end of the workshop for purchase. \n**Attention: This project does require some patience and focus. For that reason\, we don’t recommend children under 10 years old attending the workshop. Children older than 10 are welcome to attend with an adult who is also paying to take the class. \n\n\nInstructor bio: \nHi! I am Monique Mullis\, a retired Colorado State Park Ranger and co-owner of The Felted Dog with my sister. I am self-taught and started needle-felting over twelve years ago after looking high and low for a fiber art that didn’t include counting! It didn’t take me long to quickly learn what a fun\, inexpensive\, and addicting hobby it can be. I get most of my inspiration from nature and like to add my version of silly or whimsy to all the projects I make. \nOver the years\, I have learned various applications of needle felting\, from appliqué on wool to 3-D wool creatures. I continue to develop my personal technique called EZ Peazy felting which uses little “cheats” to ensure a successful project the first time. I have designed several felting kits with these fiber “hacks” front and center. \nOver the years\, I have been so lucky to travel to many fiber festivals as a vendor and instructor. I have taught needle felting workshops at the Estes Park Wool Market\, Sneffels Fiber Festival in Ridgway Colorado\, the Texas Fleece and Fiber Festival\, Bander Fiber Festival\, the Eureka Springs Fiber Festival in Arkansas and even a virtual workshop in 2020 at the New York State Sheep and Wool Festival (Rhinebeck). I also teach monthly felting classes in our storefront and maker’s space\, CoLLECTIVE\, in Pueblo Colorado. \nWhile I enjoy perfecting my own skills and making art pieces\, I am particularly passionate about introducing people to needle felting and giving them the skills and tools\, they need to make their own fiber creations. \n \nwww.thefelteddog.com \n\n\n*No cancellations or refunds will be accepted but if you are unable to make it\, we will allow your spot to be transferred to someone else with 48 hrs notice. Thank you for your understanding.

He believes art is for everyone and has a passion for sparking interest in painting and offering skills to every day people. \nIn Stephen’s own words: “My gallery of choice is in the homes of those I’m fortunate to work with. When most people think of fine art they think of giant paintings in immaculate frames roped off in beautiful upscale galleries. While that sounds like a dream come true for any artist\, I find far more meaning in connecting with people on a personal level. I’m an artist with a love for family and I thrive on emotional connection.” \nYou can find his work on his Instagram account and website: \nIG: ArtFromEarly \nWebsite: https://www.artfromearly.com/ \n\n\n*No cancellations or refunds will be accepted but if you are unable to make it\, we do allow your spot to be transferred to someone else with 48 hrs notice. SUMMARY:Colorado Native Plant Master: Garden of the Gods
DESCRIPTION:A three week series of classes on native plant identification in the field. We will identify 40-60 plants throughout the course.\n\n\nSchedule: August 9th\, 16th\, and 23rd from 8:30AM-12:30PM. Participants must attend all three classes for course completion. \nPark Description: Garden of the Gods is a popular destination\, known for its rock formations and picturesque views of Pikes Peak. Once a basecamp of the Ute due to it’s abundant plant life and water\, the park is still home to an array of native plant species. \nWe will introduce you to 40-60 plants\, using family features and a botanical key to help identify species. SUMMARY:Needle Felt Colorado State Flag Ornament
DESCRIPTION:Learn the needle felting technique while making this keepsake Colorado state flag ornament at Sweetwater Flower Market for Colorado Day.\n\n\nCome celebrate Colorado’s 147th birthday as you make a keepsake Colorado state flag ornament using the needle felting technique. August 1st commemorates the day that Colorado was admitted to be a state of the Union. \nThe project is from a felting kit and is geared for beginners (first-timers\, or still learning basics) and is a great class to take with friends! \nAll supplies are included and the project will be done at the end of the class. The ornament is a “Make and Take” event. Each Participant will learn to make an ornament to keep during the workshop and will take an ornament home to make on their own. SUMMARY:Abstract Acrylic Pallet Knife Painting workshop
DESCRIPTION:Learn to paint three-dimensional art by using a pallet knife to achieve texture and depth in a design you will want to hang on your wall.\n\n\nPainting workshops are a fun way to learn a new skill\, laugh with friends\, and make something personal for your home. Only\, often the designs are not something you would actually hang on your walls. Let tonight be different! Choose your color pallet to match your home\, and come make this fun abstract design that doesn’t require ability to draw a tree or paint a face. Instead\, let the texture and lines be the star as you recall the beauty of antique furniture with peeling paint. \nFor beginners\, no experience needed! \n Make your art come alive as you add texture and depth to your painting using Impasto style painting with the textured relief effect of a Monet or Van Gogh. This class will focus on pallet knife painting techniques and how to use mediums to thicken acrylics to create landscape art with only the use of pallet knives. Come join local artist Tyler Dixon as he teaches you how to paint with the spirit of an impressionist in a relaxed atmosphere. \nTyler will provide color pallet options to change your design. \n Ticket: $55/person \n\n\nTyler Dixon is a fine art muralist who has been instructing painting classes for 9 years. Tyler has been featured in Colorado Springs Parade of Homes 2021 and Colorado Springs Lifestyle Magazine March 2022. You can find his murals in every Sweetwater Flower Market location in town! \n \nhttps://tylerdixonmurals.wixsite.com/website \n\n\nNo cancellations or refunds will be accepted but if you are unable to make it\, I will allow your spot to be transferred to someone else with 48 hrs notice.
