There is a vault toilet at the trailhead\, but no bathrooms beyond that. The trail is fairly flat and even after the first hill. \nWe will introduce you to 40-60 plants\, using family features and a botanical key to help identify species. Ecological relationships\, human connections and the potential to use some of these plants in your landscaping will be discussed. In addition\, we will emphasize understanding noxious alien plants and the challenge they present to our native environment. \nTrainers: \nIrene Shonle is the Horticulture Specialist for El Paso County\, and has taught Native Plant Master classes since 2003. She has a PhD in Ecology\, and has been with CSU Extension for 23 years. SUMMARY:Ladies Hike - Ute Trail (40's & 50's)
DESCRIPTION:Let’s get together and meet some new female friends. This group social hike is for women between the ages of 40’s and 50’s.\n\n\n\nAre you looking for an outlet to meet new people?\nHave you fallen into the habit of staying home because your friends are too busy\, focused on other things?\nAre you wondering how to make friends as an adult – outside of the workplace?\n\n \nIf so\, come along with us on our monthly Ladies hikes! Connect with ladies at the same stage of life as you AND start building a community of local friends. \nThese hikes are meant for meeting new people and helping you find friends to hang out with on a regular basis. \nWe always have a great time looking at the views\, taking photos\, chatting\, and laughing together. Every hike brings a mix of new people\, which makes it a really welcoming group to be in. \nThis group social hike is for women between the ages of 40’s and 50’s. \n\n\nIt can be a bit scary to put yourself out there in a new group of people. \nYou might be thinking the following: \nI don’t want to waste my time: Meeting new people\, and possibly making a friend\, is not a waste of time. However\, even if you don’t make a new friend\, if nothing else\, you get to be in nature\, seeing beautiful scenery and getting some exercise! \nWhat if there’s nothing to talk about? We stop often to do ice breaker topics along the hike to give us good conversation starters! We switch up talking buddies along the way\, too\, so you have a chance to chat with many different ladies. \nWhat if I don’t fit in? Chances are\, you probably won’t relate to everyone in the group. But you will find interesting topics to chat about with some of the gals\, and that’s the important part. The ice breakers make it easier to coax out conversations and help us learn about one another’s interests. And you can ALWAYS talk to Emma\, your host\, at any time during the hike if you are feeling out of place. \nWhat if I’m a slow hiker? We take our time on these hikes to stop often to chat as a group\, and we never leave anyone behind. Each person varies at their level of hiking experience (from beginner to expert) and we always go at a pace that works for everyone. \n\n\nIt’s so much more fun to do activities when you have friends who want to do them with you. Summer is coming and there are a lot of events to attend! \nWhy not start building your circle of friends now who want to do life with you? \n\n\nAbout this month’s hike: \nWe’ll hike the Ute Trail in Dotsero\, Colorado. Please arrive by 11:15 am – hike starts promptly at 11:20 am. Trail is a little uphill and has some rocks. Plan for 2 hours on the trail total. More details to follow in the confirmation email. \n\n\nWant to join us? Please register so I know to expect you. Registration capped at 16 ladies to keep the group manageable. \nIf you can’t attend this one but want an invite to the next\, please subscribe to this event page\, or subscribe to my newsletter here! I’ll do these monthly on different trails in the Vail Valley area. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe below photo is of the Ute Trail.

SUMMARY:Ladies Hike - Burnt Tree Ridge Trail
DESCRIPTION:Let’s get together and meet some new female friends. This group social hike is for women between the ages of 30’s and 40’s.\n\n\n\nAre you looking for an outlet to meet new people?\nHave you fallen into the habit of staying home because your friends are too busy\, focused on other things?\nAre you wondering how to make friends as an adult – outside of the workplace?\n\n \nIf so\, come along with us on our monthly Ladies hikes! \nYou’ll connect with ladies at the same stage of life as you AND start building a community of local friends. \nThese hikes are meant for meeting new people and helping you find friends to hang out with on a regular basis. \nEach month\, we always have a great time: \n\nlooking at the views\ntaking photos\nchatting and laughing together.\n\nEvery hike brings a mix of new people\, which makes it a really welcoming group to be in. \nThis group social hike is for women between the ages of 30’s and 40’s. See below for more details on our hike this month. \nIt’s so much more fun to do activities when you have friends who want to do them with you. Summer is coming and there are a lot of events to attend! \nWhy not start today by building a circle of friends who want to do life with you? \n \nAbout this month’s hike: \nWe’ll hike from the Burnt Tree Ridge trailhead\, which shares a parking lot with the Bike Trail\, just before Glenwood Canyon. Let’s meet in the rest area parking lot before we head up. ***NOTE: Click on the link to find the actual location of the trail. Get off on the Dotsero highway exit\, then follow the frontage road for a couple minutes until you reach an overpass and a parking lot. That’s the lot to park in. \nPlease arrive by 11:15 am – hike starts promptly at 11:20 am. Plan for 2 hours on the trail total. As always with hikes in Colorado\, you’ll want to bring regular hiking boots. The trail has a very slight uphill most of the way\, but we will can stop and look at the scenery as much as we need! \n \nWant to join us? Please register so I know to expect you. Registration capped at 16 ladies to keep the group manageable. If weather is suspect\, the hike will be rescheduled. Be sure to register so you get an email if this does happen. \nIf you can’t attend this one but want an invite to the next\, please subscribe to this event page\, or subscribe to my newsletter here! I’ll do these monthly on different trails in the Vail Valley area. \nImmeditately below\, you’ll find a photo of the Burnt Tree Ridge Trail\, and then pictures from past hikes! \n\n\n\nHere are some photos from some past Ladies Hikes we’ve done (Ute Trail\, Salt Creek Trail\, Grizzly Creek Trail).
