SUMMARY:Ladies SNOWSHOE Hike - West Brush Creek Trail (20's - 80's)
DESCRIPTION:Let’s get together and meet some new female friends. This group social hike is for women between the ages of 20 and 90 years old.\n\n\n\nAre you looking for an outlet to meet new people?\nHave you fallen into the habit of staying home because your friends are too busy\, focused on other things?\nAre you wondering how to make friends as an adult – outside of the workplace?\n\n \nIf so\, come along with us on our monthly Ladies hikes! Connect with ladies at the same stage of life as you AND start building a community of local friends. \n<< This month we are doing a snowshoe hike! Bring your snowshoes and get ready to have a fun adventure in the snow. >> \nThese hikes are meant for meeting new people and helping you find friends to hang out with on a regular basis. \nWe always have a great time looking at the views\, taking photos\, chatting\, and laughing together. Every hike brings a mix of new people\, which makes it a really welcoming group to be in. \nThis group social hike is for women between the ages of 20 and 90\, but please no children or dogs. \n\n\nAbout this month’s hike: \nWe’ll start from the West Brush Creek Trail\, at the Meadows Day Use Area in Sylvan Lake State Park. NOTE: Some of us may carpool. Please register for more details. \nWe’re snowshoeing this time so bring all your gear for that. \nPlease arrive to the trail by 11:10 am – hike starts promptly at 11:15 am. If you are carpooling\, you will need to arrive earlier to meet us. Plan for 2 hours on the trail total. More details to follow in the confirmation email. \n\n\nIt can be a bit scary to put yourself out there in a new group of people. \nYou might be thinking the following: \nWhat if there’s nothing to talk about? We stop often to do ice breaker topics along the hike to give us good conversation starters! We switch up talking buddies along the way\, too\, so you have a chance to chat with many different ladies. \nWhat if I’m a slow hiker? We take our time on these hikes to stop often to chat as a group\, and we never leave anyone behind. Each person varies at their level of hiking experience (from beginner to expert) and we always go at a pace that works for everyone. \n\n\nIt’s so much more fun to do activities when you have friends who want to do them with you. \nWhy not start building your circle of friends now who want to experience new things? \nHere’s what some of the hikers are saying: \n“What a great group of women to spend my morning with! So appreciative to Emma for organizing this group hike and to all the fantastic women who I met today. This is just the beginning!” – R \n“Thank you\, Emma for organizing this hike. I really enjoyed meeting some lovely likeminded ladies while getting outside on this gorgeous morning. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone better.” – L \n\n\nWant to join us? Please register so I know to expect you. Registration capped at 10 ladies to keep the group manageable. \nIf you can’t attend this one but want an invite to the next\, please subscribe to this event page\, or subscribe to my newsletter here! I’ll do these monthly on different trails in the Vail Valley area.

SUMMARY:Vermicomposting Basics - In Person
DESCRIPTION:Use worms to break your kitchen scraps down into compost for your garden.\n\n\nVermicomposting is where you take organic material and turn it into nutrient-rich soil using worms. Learn about this fairly easy\, waste-saving method of composting. It doesn’t take much space and you can keep your worm farm in a warm\, unfinished basement room or heated garage. Work is minimal and feeding can be sporadic (yes\, you can leave them and go on vacation). Extracting the rich soil is done about twice a year and this “vermicompost” can be a great amendment in your garden. \nThis class is IN-PERSON and space is limited. A small amount of vermicomposting worms will be given to the first 15 registrants or as supplies allow. The instructor is Colorado Master Gardener\, Barb Valenti. \nColorado State University does not discriminate on the basis of disability and is committed to providing reasonable accommodations. | Colorado State University no discrimina por motivos de discapacidad y se compromete a proporcionar adaptaciones razonables. \nCSU’s Office of Engagement and Extension ensures meaningful access and equal opportunities to participate to individuals whose first language is not English.| Office of Engagement and Extension de CSU garantiza acceso significativo e igualdad de oportunidades para participar a las personas quienes su primer idioma no es el inglés. \nColorado State University Extension is an equal opportunity provider.| Colorado State es un proveedor que ofrece igualdad de oportunidades. \nIf you are unable to attend due to financial difficulties or if you are in need of accommodations to attend this program\, please contact elpasocohortclasses@gmail.com fourteen days in advance.
