Skills for the Hills 2019: Winter Fourteener Climbing—Lessons Learned from the Front Lines of Mountain Rescue!
Winter Climbing Fourteeners: Lessons learned from the front lines of mountain rescue! Learn about the common actions that lead to accidents and people getting into trouble on winter climbs. Data have shown people are people—and many make the same errors that become lessons for the rest of us. Dale Atkin's presentations are always astonishingly informative and detailed. Alpine member Dale Atkins is a 40-plus year veteran of mountain rescue, ski patrolling and avalanche science. He is an internationally recognized avalanche expert, a past president of the American Avalanche Association, past vice president in the International Commission for Alpine Rescue (ICAR) and a former forecaster for the Colorado Avalanche Information Center.
