Growing & Using Medicinal Herbs
Join Tammi for a class on how to grow, harvest and use many medicinal herbs that are perfect for Colorado gardeners. She will talk about their growing needs and what their medicinal benefits are. She will also discuss how best to harvest them and offer suggestions on ways to prepare them. Bring paper and pen to take notes and come ready to be inspired! Tammi Hartung has been growing and working with herbs for more than 40 years. She and her husband own Desert Canyon Farm, a USDA certified organic farm and greenhouse operation in Canon City since 1996, where they grow more than 1800 varieties of potted plants. Chris and Tammi grow all types of herbs, heritage/heirloom veggies and fruits, edible flowers, native and wildlife habitat plants and more. Tammi is an international speaker and the author of 4 books, including Growing 101 Herbs That Heal, Homegrown Herbs, The Wildlife-Friendly Vegetable Gardener, and Cattail Moonshine & Milkweed Medicine. She and Chris share their farm with Shrek the farm dog, 3 wily housecats, a duckle of ducks (Hannah, Gretel and Rosie), a herd of more than 35 deer, raccoons and skunks, foxes, and loads of different kinds of birds and other wildlife.
