Saturday, March 6, 2021, 9:00 AM
Growing Mushrooms – A weekend intensive workshop This 2 day mushroom workshop includes everything you need to grow. You will leave with actual skills that you develop during the in class coaching. This is not just a lecture but an interactive skill building workshop. You will personally work through the whole cultivation process along with your classmates and instructors, and you will bring your work home. Students will learn to pour agar plates, make agar to agar transfers and to make spore to agar inoculations. Students will make and inoculate both grain spawn jars and bulk substrate bags. Each student will have access to every tool needed for a home laboratory setup so there can be real time learning and practice not just observation. Class begins with a very brief intro to the mushroom life cycle followed by a short lecture on lab procedures and concepts. Next, students will watch several live demonstrations and have the opportunity to practice each technique several times. Instructors will observe students and make personalized corrections to their procedure.
