Gray & Gray: 75 Years of Working in Dirt
Thursday, December 17, 2020, 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Audrey and Frank Gray (father and daughter) each show close attention to detail but create very different work. Showing together brings an opportunity to show their diverse art forms, and also to create collaborative pieces bringing their diverse techniques and ideas together. Audrey’s work is unique because she is creating traditional-feeling landscapes using non-traditional materials, namely different colors of earth that she gathers herself. Frank’s work is grounded in functional forms and draws on both historical vessels and his 50 years of experience working with clay. When they bring their techniques and aesthetic visions together, they create low-relief, three-dimensional wall pieces featuring both fired ceramic and raw natural materials like mica and sand. Wed-Sat 10am-12pm & 1pm-3pm. $10/$8 child & seniors 65+. Military free through Labor Day. Members free. Timed tickets at sdc-arts.org. Must wear mask.
